The Bell Warriors Football Club:

Background: The Bell Warriors Minor Football Club offers an amateur tackle football program for boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 23. The Club has been in existence since 1955 with a team in the Pee Wee division of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA). As the league expanded, so too have the Warriors; we now offer Girls’ Touch Football (in Spring), Indoor Football Clinics, Flag Football and Tackle Football at four competitive levels. The Warriors territory covers 4 City wards and includes Bells Corners, Crystal Beach, Bayshore, Britannia, Stittsville, Richmond and Munster. The Warriors organization stresses skills development, sportsmanship, and the value of teamwork. Over fifty volunteers help the club attain these goals through their efforts as club executives, coaches, directors, conveners, event organizers and support staff.

The Warriors’ goal has always been to promote “Football for All”. For 63 years, the Bell Warriors Football Club has continued to ensure that all youth have access to football while promoting the principles of fair play and sportsmanship in a positive, supportive, encouraging and safe environment. This is particularly key for disadvantaged youth in the many low-income areas within our territory. The Warriors are a non-profit organization. All equipment is supplied by the Warriors and all helmets are re-certified annually and every coach has official Safe Contact certification to ensure that player safety is of the utmost of importance. Player fees only cover approximately 40% of our annual budget so establishing partnerships is very important to sustain our football program

Objectives: The Club is an agent of personal growth through athletics for youth ages 7 through 23. The Club will implement a planned program of teaching football skills with a goal to cultivate enjoyable relationships with other youth while emphasizing achievement through team effort and self-discipline. It is necessary to promote the principles of fair play and sportsmanship in a positive, supportive and encouraging environment. If in our football programs we can contribute in some way to the moral, mental, emotional and physical development of our youth, our goal will have been reached and our program will be considered a success.
